Precision Envirotyping for Australian Rainfed Farming
Harness water deficit data from previous seasons to identify your Environmental Type (ET) and make informed decisions about crop selection, sowing dates, and management strategies tailored to Australian rainfed conditions.
Environmental Type (ET) Classification
Our system classifies your land based on water deficit patterns into four distinct Environmental Types
Water-Sufficient
Minimal water deficit (<100mm). Suitable for water-intensive crops with flexible sowing windows.
Mild Terminal Water-Stress
Moderate water deficit (100-200mm). Crops experience stress during later growth stages.
Severe Water-Limited
High water deficit (200-300mm). Significant water limitations throughout growing season.
Extreme Water-Limited
Critical water deficit (>300mm). Extreme limitations requiring drought-adapted farming.

Chickpeas
Sowing Window: May - June (Winter)
Water Requirement: 350-550mm
Soil Preference: Sandy Loam to Loam
Best Suited For: ET2, ET3 environments
Sorghum
Sowing Window: October - December (Summer)
Water Requirement: 450-650mm
Soil Preference: Wide range, drought tolerant
Best Suited For: ET3, ET4 environments
Lentils
Sowing Window: May - June (Winter)
Water Requirement: 300-500mm
Soil Preference: Sandy Loam to Loam
Best Suited For: ET2, ET3 environments
Note: Sowing windows vary by Australian region. Northern regions have summer-dominant rainfall, while southern regions have winter-dominant rainfall.
Soil type significantly affects water holding capacity and crop suitability.
